Casey Shannon has been releasing music under the name Peyote Pilgrim since 2013, when he and music collaborator, Jeff Raudebaugh, along with childhood friend Davey Hoen, released “In A Town So Green I Can’t Be Blue”. What was at first was a simple lo-fi project, mostly recording to 4 track recorders changed in 2015 when the trio joined forces with drummer, Jack Kilby and guitarist Ian Dansey. in 2016 the group put out their 2nd album, titled “Cowabunga”, and began to hone their sound. Drawing influence from old country greats a la Townes Van Zandt and John Prine, with a dash of sonic rock exploration. The same four followed up in 2017 with the widely loved EP “Americana Hotel”. Peyote Pilgrim is a little folk-rock and a little blues-country. It’s unadulterated americana and a whole lot of heavy soul.
Peyote Pilgrim’s third album titled “Anyhow” will be out in February 2024.
Americana Hotel is a 6 song EP recorded in Alexandria, VA.
